Prospect Heights Real Estate

Prospect Heights Apartments

Prospect Heights real estate provides residents with a quiet, peaceful lifestyle. Prospect Heights is bounded by Atlantic Avenue to the north, Eastern Parkway to the south, Flatbush Avenue to the west and Washington Avenue to the east. The name Prospect Heights dates back to 1889, when it was an option for the neighborhood that is now known as Park Slope. Prospect Heights is easily accessible to Manhattan via several subways.

Prospect Heights is an ethnically diverse neighborhood and offers a lot to its residents. Art lovers must visit the Brooklyn Museum, which was built in 1895 and is New York City’s second-largest art museum. This historical museum houses many different cultural pieces, including ancient Egyptian works in addition to modern art as well. Residents of Prospect Heights also have access to visit the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, a 52-acre garden that has various types of beautiful plant arrangements. Inside the Brooklyn Botanic Garden is the C.V. Starr Bonsai Museum, which among other things includes an art exhibit.

Mount Prospect Park is also located in Prospect Heights. Originally, there was a reservoir in the park that supplied water to parts of New York City. However, in 1940, the land was acquired by the Parks Department and it was turned into a recreational park. The park offers plenty of fresh air and beautiful sights to see. Part of the land of Mount Prospect Park is shared by the central branch of the Brooklyn Public Library. This library, which was landmarked in 1997, contains over a million books and catalogs, and also has various memorabilia from the old Brooklyn Dodgers. Another piece of culture to check out in Prospect Heights is the West Indian-American Day Parade, which is one of the largest annual parades held in New York City.
