Apartments in Hell's Kitchen
Hell’s Kitchen apartments offer a variety of living options in the heart of Midtown West. Also referred to as “Clinton,” Hell’s Kitchen is bordered by 34th Street to the south, 57th Street to the north, Eighth Avenue to the east and the Hudson River to the west. Although the true origin of the neighborhood’s intimidating moniker hasn’t been agreed upon, most can assume that it undoubtedly describes some part of the area’s rough-and-tumble past. However, today, it is a gentrified section of town with a multitude of restaurants, bars and points of interest.
The population of Hell’s Kitchen includes actors, drawn by the proximity to the Theater District, high-income young professionals and older tenants. Living options here consist of luxury high-rise doorman buildings, low-rise walk-ups and mid-rise elevator buildings. The area between Eighth Avenue and Tenth Avenue, especially along Ninth Avenue, is the most active part of this neighborhood, with the most density occurring here. However, new residential developments providing luxury living at more affordable prices have begun popping up further west with an attempt to expand towards the Hudson River.
A multi-ethnic past has given way to a very large variety of ethnic cuisine in the neighborhood, from Caribbean to Ethiopian to Vietnamese. Its proximity to shopping, dining and recreation make Hell’s Kitchen a desirable place to call home. Being so close to the Theater District, Central Park, Penn Station and especially Midtown offices, Hell’s Kitchen provides its residents with convenience and multiple things to do on a regular basis.
