Level Group CEO And President To Be Honored By The Bowery Mission
Michael Greenberg and Larry Link To Be Recognized for Service and Raising Donations for the Homeless at the Charity’s Annual Valentine Gala
Level Group, an innovative, full-service commercial and residential real estate brokerage company that introduced the 100% commission model to New York City, today announced that The Bowery Mission, a well respected organization which has been serving New York’s homeless and hungry for over 136 years, will honor executives Michael Greenberg, CEO and General Counsel, and Larry Link, President, at its 2016 Valentine Gala. Tickets and information on the fundraiser, to be held on Thursday, February 11th at The Plaza, are available at https://www.bowery.org/donate/special-events/2016-valentine-gala/.
“As a firm, Level Group is committed to giving back to our community and to those organizations that sustain and improve the quality of life of all members of our community,” says Michael Greenberg. “We are humbled to be honored by The Bowery Mission, whose generous and humane work elevates us all.”
The Bowery Mission provided more than 406,000 meals and 91,000 nights of shelter this year, in addition to offering medical services, longer-term residential recovery programs for men and women, and year-round programs for at-risk youth.
In addition to organizing volunteer service by Level employees at The Bowery Mission kitchen, Greenberg and Link offered their brokerage and legal services gratis when The Bowery Mission needed help finding new office space. Link and Greenberg worked with the Mission personally and located bright and airy new offices for the Mission’s Headquarters staff at 432 Park Avenue South. They received a substantial commission from the transaction of almost $70,000, which they donated to the Mission. Greenberg also served pro bono as the Mission’s attorney in the transaction.
“We presented Level Group with a tall order. We needed office space quickly at a critical time of year and in a way that met very specific needs for budget, location, size, layout, and employee count” says David Jones, Bowery Mission President. “Larry and Michael really rose to the challenge and delivered an exceptional office space that exceeded our expectations in every way. Because of their help, we were able to continue serving the homeless throughout the holiday season without missing a beat. We are grateful for Level Group’s service and their generous commitment to our Mission and those we serve.”
Level Group employees volunteer at The Bowery Mission’s kitchen and the firm’s partnership with The Bowery Mission reflects its ongoing commitment to the community. “I’ve always believed that things happen for a reason, so it comes as no surprise that Level Group connected with The Bowery Mission at exactly the time our real estate company was able to help them most,” says Larry Link. “The Mission is doing the very difficult work of feeding, sheltering and serving disadvantaged, at risk and homeless New Yorkers and their families. I’m grateful for the opportunity to be of service to this incredible organization.”
About The Bowery Mission
The Bowery Mission has served homeless and hungry New Yorkers since 1879. This year, The Bowery Mission provided more than 406,000 meals to men, women and children, 91,000 nights of shelter and 44,000 articles of clothing, as well as showers, haircuts, and expert medical and optometric care. Each meal and every night of shelter is an invitation to residential recovery programs, where men and women get a second chance and lives are transformed from hopelessness to hope. Last year, the Mission’s residential programs served nearly 300 men and women who are regaining sobriety, reconnecting with family and faith, pursuing educational goals, and preparing for work and independent living. To ensure that at-risk children have a positive first chance at life, The Bowery Mission’s city camp and summer camp serves nearly 1,200 at-risk children from poor city neighborhoods. www.bowery.org.
