Flushing Real Estate
Flushing apartments offer its residents the chance to live in one of New York City’s largest and most diverse neighborhoods. Flushing can be found in central Queens, directly east of Flushing Meadows – Corona Park. The neighborhood is also bordered by Francis Lewis Boulevard on the east, the Long Island Expressway on the south and by both Bayside Avenue and the Whitestone Expressway on the north. With over 175,000 people, it is no surprise that the downtown section of Flushing offers a transportation hub, allowing residents to have easy access to the rest of New York City.
Being so densely populated, Flushing offers a wide variety of living arrangements, creating a distinct environment. In downtown Flushing, there are multiple high- and mid-rise apartment buildings with fairly reasonable rents. However in North Flushing, right near Kissena Park, there is a large section of million dollar, single-family homes. This large array of housing opportunities has allowed Flushing to become one of the most diverse neighborhoods in America, with over 200 places of worship and residents representing countries from all over the world.
Residents living in Flushing are constantly kept busy with all that the neighborhood has to offer. At the heart of Flushing is Flushing Meadows – Corona Park. This landmarked, 1,255 acre park was created for the New York City World’s Fair in 1939. The park is now home to USTA National Tennis Center, which hosts the US Open Tennis Tournament every year, as well as Citi Field, home to the New York Mets. The park is also complete with the Queens Museum of Art, the Terrace on the Park Banquet Hall and Meadow Lake, which is open to residents for rowing and paddle boating.
