Chinatown apartments offer a variety of living options at primarily affordable prices. One of the largest Chinese communities outside Asia, Chinatown in Manhattan has borders of Canal Street to the north, Bowery to the east, Worth Street to the south and Baxter Street to the west. The core of Chinatown is Canal Street, where shops and street vendors peddle goods of all kinds, from clothing to electronics, but there’s a lot more to this up-and-coming neighborhood, including restaurants, bars and various points of interest.

Chinatown certainly provides residents with a unique living experience. During the day, the neighborhood is bustling with open street markets, packed restaurants and people hanging out along the streets. However, at night, the area slows down and gets much quieter and enjoyable. Real estate prices and rents are lower in this section of town with the majority of building options being low-rise walkups and tenement housing. This generally attracts younger individuals and couples looking for good deals, while being able to live in downtown Manhattan.

The neighborhood has seen its fair share of new restaurants and bars pop up recently, many of which are clandestine spots catering to a younger and trendier crowd. This, combined with its proximity to the Lower East Side, has made living in Chinatown a good place to settle down. Loft-style apartments at affordable prices and great spots at their doorstep are positive selling points for residents in this part of the city. In addition, several public transportation options provide easy access to the rest of Manhattan and Brooklyn.
